Dorothy Merle McNally, 95, of McPherson, KS passed away in the presence of family members on March 1, 2023 at McPherson Hospital, McPherson, KS.
She was a seamstress and secretary/bookkeeper.
Dorothy was born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 22, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Bert and Estella (Heaton) Pinkerton.
She attended Merritt Elementary School and graduated from Elk City High School in Elk City, Oklahoma in 1944. She graduated
from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) in 1948.
Dorothy Merle Pinkerton married Aubrey Darrell McNally on August 30, 1947 at her family’s home in rural Elk City, Oklahoma. This union was blessed by the birth of four children, Kathy Gail, Karen Jo, Barbara Rose, and Gary Lynn.
She was a seamstress most of her adult life. She also worked with her husband at 81 Farm Supply as a secretary/bookkeeper from 1955 to 1989. She then worked part-time for Wallace Chevrolet-Olds.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in McPherson. She taught the early elementary age Sunday School class for many years and was very active in the church.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Kathy Broome (Terry) of Scottsboro, Alabama, Karen Hanke (Richard) of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Barbara Sucsy (Steve) of Lubbock, Texas, and Gary McNally (Donna) of McPherson, Kansas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Aubrey McNally, and
granddaughter Amy Dawn Broome.
Visitation with the family present will be Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 W Euclid, McPherson, Kansas.
Funeral service will be held March 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of
Christ, 700 E Ave. A, McPherson, Kansas with Minister Jason Fish officiating.

Final resting place will be in the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
