Constance D. “Connie” Swenson, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor.&nbsp; She was born August 13, 1928 in Clay County, the daughter of Lemue and Minnie Close.&nbsp;

Connie graduated from CCCHS in 1946.&nbsp; She married Lloyd Swenson on February 16, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2019 after 72 years of marriage.&nbsp; The couple enjoyed traveling together.&nbsp; She had a gentle and soft-spoken nature and was frugal with herself but generous with others.&nbsp; Connie worked at the Clay County Hospital, J.C. Penney and Cablecom.&nbsp; She was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church.&nbsp;

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Paula Swenson, two brothers, Don and Leo Close and sister, Marie Malen.

Son: Ron and wife, Diane Swenson of Sherman, Texas

Son: Kenneth and wife, Suzi Swenson of Londonderry, New Hampshire

Nine grandchildren two great-grandchildren

A remembrance of her life will be shared in a private family service.

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association c/o the funeral home.
