Frances Jane "Fran" Rogers

  Frances Jane "Fran" Rogers, 80, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 8:10 a.m., Saturday, November 14th, at her home.

Frances was born in rural Goessel, Ks. on August 13, 1940, a daughter of Mary (Penner) and Albert Ratzlaff.

Frances attended the Antioch grade school and graduated from Goessel High School, Goessel, Kansas. She then attended Bethel College, Newton, Kansas where she received her Teaching Certificate.

She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

Frances Jane Ratzlaff was united in marriage to Robert Ralph "Bob" Rogers on May 28, 1965 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Emporia, Kansas. In 1967, the couple moved to McPherson, Kansas and they were blessed with the birth of two children, a daughter and a son, Ranada and Brian.

Frances was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked as an elementary school teacher having taught at the William Allen White Elementary School, Emporia, Kansas and Harmony Country School, McPherson.

Frances was a member of a quilting group with the First Mennonite Church. Frances enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Ranada January, of Little River, Kansas and Brian Rogers and wife Theresa, of Wichita, Kansas; her siblings, Norman Ratzlaff, of Newton, Kansas, Marlin Ratzlaff and wife Anita, of Aurora, Colorado, and Rosalie Duerksen and husband Marvin, of Canton, Kansas; her three grandchildren, Morgan January, Colin January, and Amanda January; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Rogers, and son-in-law, Leon January.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, Novmeber 16, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

Graveside service will be held at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17th, with Pastor Lois Harder officiating.
