With just one meet left to shore up their times before making a pair of state title runs next week, the Southeast of Saline cross-country teams put on a show at regionals, completing yet another monster sweep.
Both groups won their respective races in dominant fashion, with the boy's team finishing 67 points ahead of West Franklin and the girl’s wrapping up their meet 50 points ahead of Osage City.
On the boy’s side, Southeast was once again led by Levi Allen who took home the silver at regionals with a time of 16:42.07.
Allen wasn’t the only medal recipient as Damion Jackson finished just two seconds behind the junior to collect bronze for the Trojans.
For the first time in more than five weeks, Brayden and Cayden Walker were separated in the standings, with the freshman finishing fourth and the junior coming home in sixth.
Rounding out the Trojan lineup Jacob Bircher finished 11th, Nakari Morrical-Palmer finished 15th and Isaiah Kejr brought up the rear of the team in 23rd to keep all seven runners inside the top 25.
On the girl’s side sophomore sensation Abby Commerford led the Lady Trojans with a time of 20:37.12 good enough for a fifth-place finish.
Commerford was followed by steady senior Ashley Prochazka, who was the only other purple presence in the top ten, finishing her race in ninth.
Freshman phenom Breckyn Alderson posted an 11th-place finish, with Savannah Sutton and Brookelyn Adams wrapping up regionals inside the top 20 in 17th and 18th respectively.
Cali Augustine sat just a single spot outside the top 20 with Brenna Felzien bringing up the rear for the Lady Trojans in 28th but keeping the whole team inside the top 30.
Both teams will head to Lawrence for state next Saturday as the Trojans and Lady Trojans square off against Wichita Trinity and two strong fields of runners for a pair of state championships at Rim Rock.
