Saline County Kansas/City of Salina

Saline County and the City of Salina are still accepting applications for the new Opioid Grant Review Committee. This volunteer group will be responsible for reviewing nonprofit grant proposals and making funding recommendations.

The committee will include seven members—four appointed by the City of Salina and three appointed by Saline County. Appointments are expected in November.

Nonprofits will have the opportunity to begin applying for opioid settlement funding once committee appointments have been made by both commissions. Those grant applications will be reviewed by the Opioid Grant Review Committee.

By serving, committee members help guide how $50,000 in opioid settlement funding is distributed each year.

Community members interested in serving on behalf of the County or the City are encouraged to apply on the Boards and Committees website.

Funding Available

The City and County together are committing $50,000 per year to support nonprofit programs that address opioid-related issues. Funding will be available to nonprofit organizations beginning in January 2026.

Applications must align with one or more of the four priorities identified in the 2025 Saline County Opioid Community Needs Assessment:

- Improving access to treatment and services

- Expanding prevention, education and awareness efforts

- Reducing stigma toward people who use drugs

- Strengthening support for people in recovery
