David Bryan Desmarais, 65, died June 7, 2022, in Clay Center, KS.  He was born on February 5, 1957, in Taunton, Massachusetts, the son of Robert and Elaine (Schafer) Desmarais.  David was raised in Taunton before moving to Clay Center in 1975. 

He served in the U.S. Army and then the Army National Guard. 

David married Annie West on November 24, 1978. 

David worked for the Kansas Dept. of Transportation for nine years.  For the next 30 years, he drove a truck for Girton Propane, TSI, Hill Brothers and Russell Stover's. 

David was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge, both of Clay Center. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brett.

Wife: Annie Desmarais of Clay Center, KS

Daughter: Lisa Desmarais of Concordia, KS

Son: John and wife Darci Ihnen of Clay Center. KS

Daughter: Mary Ihnen of Clay Center, KS

Brother: James Desmarais of Wichita, KS

Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS.

Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, from 2-5 p.m. at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
