Roger Dale Bowden, 71, of Salina, died Thursday, October 11, 2024 at the Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina, Kansas.
He was born on June 27, 1953 in Rochester, New Hampshire, the son of Robert Lawrence and Roberta Evelyn Cate Bowden. With his father serving in the military, the family traveled throughout the country, Roger graduated from high school in Aberdeen, Maryland and then moved to Salina where he attended Brown Mackey Business College and Mary Mount College.
He was united in marriage to Donna Christine Monasmith on February 16, 1974 in Salina.
Together they recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Roger had worked for several years as an Operator at the Water Treatment Plant in Salina and later was a grill cook at Applebee’s in Salina. He had also served in the Army Reserves and National Guard.
Roger was a published author with two books about Wild Westernville.
Survivors include his wife Donna of the home in Salina; son Bryan Bowden and wife Haylee of Salina; brothers Raymond Bowden and wife Patricia of Louisville, Ky., Ricky Bowden of Salina; sisters Roxanne Hiyane and husband Miles and Robin Brockway all of Salina; along with his fur babies Eric and Ranger.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents and son Chistopher Roger Bowden.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Salina.
Arrangements are with Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
