John Ernest Harris Jr. was born in Casa Grande Arizona on January 3rd, 1956, to John Ernest Sr. and Flora Mae Harris, He went to meet his lord and savior on December 21st, 2024, in Salina Kansas, John enlisted in the Army on January 8th 1973, at the young age of 17 he served six years and 22 days and received his Honorable Discharge on February 2nd,1979. John was very proud of his service and spoke many times he was so glad that he served. While in the Army he was taught to be a Mechanic. This was something he had a natural talent for. He could sit and think and figure out a way to fix most anything. John enjoyed learning and achieved many certificates of classes he took to better his skills. John\s last job was a Phillips Lightening in Salina Kansas where he was a Line Mechanic. He enjoyed this job and the people he met there.
John was very proud of his Cherokee heritage and follow the news of the Cherokee Nation with the monthly newspaper. He taught others about the Cherokee people and his ancestors.
John's greatest love was cars and motorcycles. He owned many cars over the years and wished he still had them as they were classics. He enjoyed watching old TV shows just to look at the cars.
John loved watching both the Kansas City Royal and the Kansas Chiefs. He was not much of basketball fan but did come to be a Kansas Jayhawk fan after watching many games with Cindy.
John loved his children and grandchildren deeply and was always ready to hear about their lives. The many phone calls and visits he shared with his children were always a high point in his life.
John is survived by his wife Cindy Enright of the home. His son Joshua Harris (Denisa), his daughter Stephani Harris and son John Harris III (Theresia) all residing in Missouri. and stepson Joe Enright (Suzanne) of Salina. Six Grandchildren and seven step grandchildren and his faithful companions Rosie and Sarge.
He proceeded in death by his parents, his sisters Debbie and Wanda and his stepdaughter Kendra Enright.
No funeral services are planned there will be a private burial at the Mission Hill Cemetery near Smolan Kansas.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials to be sent to Cindy Enright in care of Roselawn Burial and Cremation Services to defray funeral costs.
