Robert A. Goben, 62, of Solomon, passed away Friday August 16, 2024. He was born to John and Helen (Reno) Goben.
He graduated in 1980 from Salina South High School and went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad on May 31, 1981. He retired from the railroad on June 1, 2022 after 41 years of service as a trackman.
Robert was a sports fanatic. He enjoyed all sports talk shows and watching any sport college or pro.
He was a member of the Salina Blue Lodge #60 and the Valley of Salina Scottish Rite.
Robert married Glenda (Milleson) in 1988. He had no biological children but gained three stepdaughters when he married Glenda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen; two brothers, William Goben, Micheal Spears; and sister, Nancy Crenshaw.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Glenda; sisters, Margi Berendzen (Larry) of Burien, WA, Margaret Henderson of Bermuda Dunes, CA; brothers, John Goben (Kathy) of Walla Walla, WA, Doug Goben (Jenny) of Cedar Hill, MO; stepdaughters, Amy Rose (Shannon) of Denver, Nicole Dickerman of Glasgow, MO, Brandy Sargent of Salina; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Brendon, Cody, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Triston, Dolcey, Daisey, Dolton; 11 great-grandchildren, Coralyn, Calli, Scarlett, Connor, McKenna, Aubrey, Hadley, Amaira, Archie, Ez, Amiyah; and his lifelong friend since the 4th grade, Richard Simmons (Linda).
