SPD sergeant Kyle Tonniges said someone at the 800 block of North 13th called the department to report an intoxicated 16-year-old attempting to drive a vehicle.
"He ended up running into the trailer park where officers were already on scene from that robbery," Tonniges said.
Wheeler made his way to the North End Mobile Home Court, where officers detained him due to his intoxication at his age. While in the patrol vehicle, he began bashing his head in the car, which required officers to place him in a body wrap.
Tonniges said officers took him to the Salina Police Department and requested charges, including — minor in the consumption of alcohol, interference with law enforcement, criminal damage to property and a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol.
