Robert J. Largent, age 90, of Concordia, KS, left this earthly life on Thursday, March 23, 2023 surrounded by his family at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, KS. He was born on September 9, 1932 in Concordia, KS to Walter A. and Carrie M. (Bechtel) Largent.
Bob graduated from Concordia High School class of 1950.
He married Georgia M. Davenport on Oct. 12, 1958 in Concordia and she preceded him on September 30, 2021.
Bob served four years in the US Navy. He was a serviceman for KP&L gas company for 20 plus years and later served in the parts department for Babe House Motor Company and as the custodian for The Baptist Church. Bob also served as a volunteer fireman. He was a member of The Baptist Church, VFW #588 and the American Legion #76.
He is survived by his son Randy Largent, Concordia; daughter Michelle Metro (Jim), Concordia; grandchildren Jordan Metro (Kelsey), Marion and Jera Metro, Plainville; great-grandchildren Kaelynn & Peyton Metro and Boone Metro; and a brother, Francis Largent (Jacque), Palm Desert, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia, his parents, four brothers and six sisters.
It was Bob’s wishes to be cremated and memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia with military honors by American Legion Post #76. Visitation is Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Youth at The Baptist Church, Wounded Warrior Project or Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
