Advance voting for the 2023 general election is underway including here in Saline County. In-office advanced voting began on Monday, Oct. 23.

Registered voters can cast their ballot in person at county election offices, in the ballot drop box located at the City/County Building, 300 W., Ash Street or via mail.

The last day to apply for an advanced ballot by mail is Tuesday, October 31.

"In November of an even year election, we're at about 62 to 65% for voter turnout," Doss said. "In this city school election, we run somewhere between 18 and 22% for voter turnout. Local elections are hugely important, all elections are important, but this one hits you at a local level in your daily life."

Voters do not need a special reason or permission to vote in advance. The final day for in-office advance voting is Monday, November 6th, at noon. Ballots in the mail postmarked on or before Election Day can be received through Friday, November 10th.
