Helen L. Martin, 79, Raymore, MO (formerly of Minneapolis and Hutchinson) was born December 27, 1941 in Muleshoe, Texas. Helen met Jesus, her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2021.
Helen is survived by her husband Ray Martin; one son, Daniel (Amy) Martin; and two grandsons, Alex and Jackson
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Vella Hays; son, David; and a brother Bobby.
She was an ordained minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, head of Women’s Ministry as well as one of the first women to serve as a board member for the IPHC. Helen was an evangelist who traveled abroad in countries like Nicaragua, Israel, and Russia, where she did a church plant. She pastored New Beginnings Fellowship Church for five years in Minneapolis, Kansas up until her heart surgery. After that, she became a chaplain in both Minneapolis and the Kansas City area and for the local chapter of their Christian Motorcycle Association. Helen loved long bike rides on the trike with Ray
She was a loving mom and wife respected by those who served with her in the church world. She loved to learn and took many college courses to advance her knowledge of the Word which she loved the most. Her walk with the Lord was admired by all and driven by her relentless pursuit to serve as best she could.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 19 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson at 1:30 P.M.
