MARION - After a multitude of small earthquakes in southeastern Saline County over the past few weeks, seismic activity moved further southeast today.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a minor earthquake gave some in Marion County a Christmas surprise late this afternoon.
A 2.3 magnitude quake struck at 5:43 p.m. Saturday southeast of Marion. The quake was centered east of U.S. Highway 77 and south of 170th Street.
