Linda Ruth James, 72, of Assaria, Kansas, passed away on December 4th 2020, in Assaria.

Linda was born in Macksville, Stafford County, Kansas, to Levingston and Gladys Fry on October 11th, 1948. The Fry family moved to Salina, Kansas. Linda is a graduate of Salina High School. Linda married Jerome 'Jesse' James on June 15th 1965 in Salina, Kansas. After their marriage, they moved to Pennsylvania where they lived for 8 years. They had three children while living in Pennsylvania. In 1973, the family returned to Kansas and settled in Assaria. Linda worked for Federal Mogul Corporation and Columbia Windows & Doors for many years before retiring to spend more time with her family. Linda and Jesse lived in Assaria for the remainder of their lives.

Linda always enjoyed going on vacations with her family, searching out flea markets, and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda ran a very successful EBay business for many years during her retirement.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jerome 'Jesse' James Jr. and her daughter Laura Ann Schmidt.

Linda is survived by her daughter Tina Smith, son-in-law Mike Smith, son-in-law Dave Schmidt, daughter-in-law Janna Smith, brother S. Earl Fry, sister-in-law Susan Fry, sister Rita Thompson, granddaughter Rose Laflen, granddaughter Christie Starr, grandson Andrew Hrabe, grandson Jonathan Schmidt, granddaughter Samantha Schmidt, great-grandson Zeke Starr, great-grandson Gabe Starr, and great-granddaughter Lily Starr.

The family has chosen cremation. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held after Christmas, and will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that a donation in Linda's remembrance be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the American Cancer Society.
