CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cloud County Community College women's and men's cross country teams have been named NJCAA Division I Cross Country All-Scholar Teams for their performance in the classroom during the 2020 fall semester.

In total, just 17 teams between men's and women's combined earned the distinction of Academic All-Scholar Teams at the NJCAA Division I level in cross country this past season, with the T-Birds finishing as one of six schools to have both their women's and men's teams both named Academic All-Scholar Teams. Additionally, the Cloud County women would be named an Academic Team of the Year for finishing the semester with a team grade point average above 3.2.

For teams to be named Academic All-Scholar teams, the team GPA for the semester that they competed in their season must be above a 2.7 with any team that finishes the semester above a 3.2 team GPA earning the distinction of Academic Team of the Year. Among the nominated teams, the Cloud County women would finish with the fifth-highest GPA while the men had the ninth-highest GPA in NJCAA Division I.

The Cloud County women would also have five athletes earn NJCAA Division I Cross Country Scholar All-American Awards for finishing the semester with a GPA of 3.4 or higher. Those athletes include sophomores Kya Johnson, Maryse Mbenoun, Pamela Milano, and Patricia Koma as well as freshman Emma Holthaus.
