Mittie Names Brown Director of Student Development and Branding

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has hired Elisabeth Brown as the program’s first Director of Student Development and Branding.

In her role, Brown’s responsibilities include: aiding in the navigation of NIL for the student-athletes, enhance branding opportunities, content creation, special projects and events including community service and player appearances. She will also be the direct liaison for the women’s basketball program with K-State’s NIL staff and ensuring that each student-athlete has the ability to grow their brand to the fullest.

Prior to joining K-State women’s basketball, Brown was the director of digital media for the Allen Americans, an ECHL professional hockey team in Allen, Texas from 2021 to 2023. While serving in this role for two seasons, she was responsible for planning, creating and publication of social media content on the organization’s social media platforms. She also assisted in the creation and implementation of graphics for websites and e-mails and managed the content for Americans member e-mails.

Brown also worked for a season with Clutch Entertainment, where she served as the director of communications and public relations for the Brazos Valley Bombers, Brazos Valley Cavalry and Texarkana Twins from November 2020 to September 2021.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism with a minor in Agricultural Leadership from Texas A&M in 2019. She also received a Master of Science in Sport Management from Texas A&M in 2022.

While earning her bachelor’s degree, Brown was an intern/media assistant with TexAgs during the 2018-19 season. During this time, she photographed numerous Texas A&M athletic events.
