Men's Bowling claims victory in KCAC Invitational

JUNCTION CITY - Kansas Wesleyan Men's Bowling emerged from the team game qualifying as the No. 4 seed, but the Coyotes left the KCAC Men's Bowling Invitational on top of the conference bowling landscape.

The underdog Coyotes pulled off two upset wins in bracket play to claim the KCAC Men's Bowling Invitation Title on Saturday.KWU was the No. 4 seed after finishing the 12 team games with a 1997 pin total.

However, pin totals are only good for seeding, not for bracket play.

In the semifinal, the Coyotes faced top seeded Avila, and rallied from an 0-2 deficit in the match to win 3-2. KWU dropped the first two games 211-181 and 163-133.

Then Wesleyan caught fire, winning 212-174, 211-166 and closing it out with a 168-111 win.KWU then faced Saint Mary, the No. 3 seed, who knocked off 2 seed Ottawa in its semfinal.

KWU lost the first game 208-171, but then turned things purple and gold as the Coyotes won the second game 170-157, the third 190-156, then claimed the crown with a 184-162 win in the last game.
