Life sketch taken from the funeral bulletin:

Our son and brother, Jesse Ross Campbell, was born to Roger and Marla (Schmidt) Campbell on January 14, 1998 at Moundridge, Kansas. He suddenly left us on May 8, 2021, reaching the age of 23 years.

Jesse grew up in the Goessel, Kansas community and received his education at the nearby Meadowlark Christian School in rural Moundridge. He heard the call of God and was born again at the age of 15 years and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on May 5, 2013 by Min. Franklin Wenger at the Meridian Congregation, Hesston, Kansas.

He had a wide range of interests including mechanics, plants, and animals. He was passionate about his service on the Hillsboro Fire Department, taking extra classes and training to be bettered prepared for his duties. He especially loved his young son, Ross.

As Jesse approached adulthood, his life became more difficult and he searched for happiness and fulfillment in ways that often brought him disappointment and frustration. As his life tragically ended, we say with Abraham in Genesis 18:28: “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
