Salina teens hospitalized after SUV travels into a ditch

SALINE COUNTY —Five teens were injured in an accident just before 7p.m. Tuesday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Ford Edge driven by Zackary L Vaughan, 17, Salina, was westbound on Interstate 70 and took exit for Interstate 135 southbound. The SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver was unable to negotiate the curve and the vehicle traveled into the ditch.

EMS transported Vaughan and passengers Xajavier J. Gray, 15;  Chad R. Bennett, 15; Ray M. Jayden, 17, and Logan D Picking, 17, all of Salina to Salina Regional Health Center. All five were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
