Eighteen year old arrested after attempting to steal a truck from a north Salina home.&nbsp;

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Wednesday night, officers responded to an area on north Broadway for the report of an attempted vehicle burglary.

Reportedly, <a href="https://salinapost.com/posts/33f346d8-cb54-4564-ae7a-5abbc3e7f319">Elijah Hammon (18)</a> attempted to steal a 1994 GMC Suburban 1500 from a home in north Salina. The owner caught Hammond in the act and chased after him to north Broadway.

The owner then called SPD and officers when responded, arrested Hammon on scene.&nbsp;

Hammon was booked into the Saline County Jail for the requested charge of Burglary.&nbsp;

The owner stated the keys were missing and Hammon admitted to throwing the keys away at a field.
