SMOLAN - A Farm and Ranch Transition Workshop will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., offering valuable guidance for those planning the future of their agricultural operations.

The workshop will be held at Salemsborg Fellowship Center located at 3831 W. Salemsborg, Smolan.

Ashlee Westerhold, director of AgKansitions and faculty member at Kansas State University, will be one of the featured speakers.

Topics will include planning for large and small acreages, family farm succession, business operations, tax considerations, and the legal and documentation needs involved in transitioning an operation to the next generation.

The workshop is free to attend, but participants are asked to register in advance using the QR code (flyer above).

Transition planning is a critical issue for Kansas agriculture. Research shows that farms with a clear transition plan are more financially stable and more likely to remain in family ownership across generations. With rising land values, complex tax laws, and evolving family dynamics, now is the time for producers to begin or revisit these important conversations
