Robert Lynn Van Pelt, Jr., 44, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021, surrounded by family at Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He worked at The Cedars as a facility maintenance technician.
Rob was born on June 4, 1977, the son of Robert Lynn Van Pelt, Sr. and Carla (Hofflinger) Van Pelt. He attended McPherson High School.
On April 30, 2016, Rob was united in marriage to Somer (Priddy) Turley in McPherson, KS.
Survivors include: his loving wife Somer of the home; children Dylan Van Pelt of Freeman, SD, Sierra Van Pelt of Oskaloosa, KS, Alexia Van Pelt of McPherson, KS, Nadia Turley (Madison Servaes) of McPherson, KS, and Vailyn Turley of McPherson, KS; mother Carla Van Pelt of McPherson, KS; sisters Tiffani Van Pelt of McPherson, KS and Nyssa Van Pelt of McPherson, KS; one grandson; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his uncle Randy Van Pelt.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the McPherson Community Building with Liz Hamor officiating. Masks are required to attend the service.
