Have some old car, pickup, or motorcycle tires that you need to get rid of? North Salina Community Development (NSCD) can help!

The organization dedicated to North Town is sponsoring a free tire collection that is open to residents of Saline County.

The event is scheduled for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the vacant lot north of Dairy Queen, 321 N. Ninth Street.

Following are the guidelines for the collection, according to North Salina Community Development.

  1. Drivers will be required to sign in and show proof of Saline County residency.
  2. There will be a 20-tire limit per household. Only car, motorcycle, and pickup tires will be accepted. All rims must be removed.
  3. No tires will be accepted from commercial or retail businesses.
  4. Everyone will help unload their own tires.

NSCD's Barb Young told Salina Post that the collected tires will be recycled.
