SES takes home first and fourth at Marion relays

The Southeast of Saline track and field teams posted another good result on Friday with the boys team taking first and the girls team taking fourth out of fourteen competing teams.

The girls team finished the day with 66 points, 38 clear of the next closest team.

Ivie Douglas brought home the lone gold medal of the day for the Lady Trojans with a first place finish in the shot put and a second place finish in the discus throw.

Jentrie Alderson picked up two more second place finishes in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs to add to a second place finish for the 4x800 meter relay team.

Rounding out podium honors for the girls, Ashley Prochazka took third in the 800 and Sadie Franklin finished third in the 3200.

On the boys side, the Trojans won the Marion Relays in dominant fashion, collecting 156 points on the day, 95 clear of Chapman who finished second.

First place finishes went to Michael Murray in the 100 meter dash and long jump, Chase Poague in the 200m dash and 110 meter hurdles, Luke Gleason in the 800m and 1600m runs, Dylan Sprecker in the 3200 and Grant Stumpf in the high jump.

The team also took top honors in the 4x400 meter relay and came second in the 4x800m relay.

Second place finishes went to Eddie McVay in the 100 meter dash, Nakari Morrical-Palmer in the 400m and Dominic Jackson in the 32oom, while Chase Poague took third in the 100m dash and Morrical-Palmer took third in the 200 meter dash.
