The defending 2A State Champs open their title defense on the road at Minneapolis, facing their league foe for the 13th time in the Mitch Gebhardt era.
The Trojans have won eight straight meetings against the Lions, and have outscored their league foe 175-20 in the last three contests, including a 64-14 rout in 2024.
Minneapolis will look to snap that streak under first-year head coach Garrett Galanski, who takes over for Tom Flax, now a member of the coaching staff at Concordia High School.
Southeast of Saline won their second-ever 2A state championship in 2024, capping off a perfect 13-0 season. The Trojans will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first-ever state title this year, which came back in 2005.
Minneapolis will be eager to get back on the right side of the .500 mark this season after finishing 2024 3-6.
