Wilfred Finley Mastin Jr, 87, of Topeka, KS, passed away on July 6, 2024. He was born May 1, 1937 in Latimer, Kansas, to Wilfred F. and Vivien (McDaniel) Mastin Sr.
He graduated from Herington High School in 1955. On June 5, 1960 he married Donna Hartke in Lincolnville, KS. The couple had five children: Laura, Kathy, Sandy, Renee and Jason. On July 19, 1994 he married Pamela Shuler. He helped to raise her children, adopting her youngest son and grandchildren: Shaun, Jacob, Joseph and Silvia.
Wilfred worked for Beech AirCraft (Raytheon) for fifty years, from 1963 until retiring in around 2013.Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pamela and sisters: Virginia, Vera, Thelma, Marian and Harriet.He is survived by his daughters: Laura (Jeff) Templer (Topeka, KS), Kathy Mastin (Salina, KS), Sandy McClain (Topeka, KS), Renee (Andy) Purdy (Salina, KS), and Silvia Mastin (Lindsborg, KS); and sons: Jason (Jamie) Mastin (Lehigh Acres, FL), Shaun, Jacob, and Joseph Mastin (Lindsborg, KS). He was blessed with ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Cremation will take place following the service and inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 19, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
