McPHERSON - Juan Manuel Lozada Leon scored twice for the Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer team on Wednesday against the McPherson Bulldogs, but his effort wasn't quite enough as the Bulldogs got a 4-2 win at Paul Family Field.
Even with the loss, the Coyotes are in a good position to secure the No. 8 seed in the KCAC Men's Soccer Tournament that begins next week. KWU also has a slim chance at earning the No. 7 seed, but need a result against Avila on Sunday and for Southwestern to draw or lose to Bethany on Saturday.
McPherson took the lead in the 22nd minute on a goal by Sijmen Van Der Zee, but the Coyotes came back and got the equalizer in the 26th minute on Lozada's first goal of the night and 12th of the season.
The Bulldogs added another in the 42nd minute by Andres Mora Castillo to take the lead and led 2-1 at the half.
McPherson extended its lead in the first minute of the second half on a goal by Zane Sullivan.
Lozada got his second goal of the night in the 53rd minute assisted by Linus Polster to keep the Coyotes within a goal.
McPherson extended its lead in the 78th on a goal by Nathan Van Wyck.
Lozada led the Coyotes with four of KWU's eight shots.
