
McPHERSON – For a second straight season, Kansas Wesleyan's Stephanie Martinez (SR/Horizon City, Texas) and Tabetha Deines (SR/Salina) will represent the Coyotes at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in two weeks at Fort Vancouver, Wash.
Martinez finished sixth and Deines was 11th earning the duo individual qualifying spots to the National Championships.
Wesleyan also finished third as a team in the final standings with 104 points, 22 ahead of Tabor.
Martinez finished with a time of 19:04.72 for the 5K course and Deines covered the course in 19:17.63.
Christina Tripp (SO/Dayton, Idaho) finished 28th for the Coyotes in 20:52.03, Daniella Gaona (SO/Clifton, Texas) was 34th in 21:08.18, Regan Rhodes (JR/Mullinville) was 36th in 21:10.17, Hannah Ent (FR/Holton) was 47th in 21:51.98, and Savannah Pilsner (FR/Columbus, Texas) was 77th in 24:17.69.
Saint Mary claimed the conference championship scoring 19 points, while Friends was second with 66.
USM's Riley Hiebert was the individual champion in 18:17.69.
