The Southeast of Saline and Chapman baseball teams split their two-game set in Lindsborg on Friday, with the Trojans taking game one 5-4 and the Irish exacting their revenge in game two 12-9.

With these results, the Trojans move to 7-7 while the Irish improve to 4-6.

The opener of this two-game set saw both starters keep things under control, with Chapman holding a 1-0 lead heading into the fourth.

The Irish made it a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth, but the Trojans struck for three in the fourth, one in the fifth, and another in the sixth to hold on for a 5-4 win.

Tiernen Ptacek and Noah Rupert were excellent on the hill for Southeast, holding Chapman to just one earned run on four hits, and striking out five.

At the plate Evan Watkins and Treytan Olson led the charge with three hits each, combining to drive in two of the five Trojan runs.

Game two was more of a shootout and saw a total of 21 runs come across to score on 24 hits.

SES got the party started early with a three-spot in the bottom of the first but Chapman swiftly undid that damage with seven of their own in the visitor's second.

The Trojans would answer with three of their own in the third and another in the fourth to take a 9-7 lead, but it would be their last as the Irish scored four unanswered runs down the stretch to win it 12-9.

Chapman spread out their work at the plate in game two with five different players tallying two or more hits, and five more driving in at least two runs.

The Irish will return to Chapman to host Concordia this Tuesday while Southeast remains at home for the Trojan war with Beloit on Thursday.
