Multiple housing-related items and a study session about sidewalks are on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.
About the meeting
Study sessions and city commission meetings will take place in–person in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street, and via Zoom until further notice. Meetings also can be viewed at the City of Salina YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/cityofSalinaKansas.

If citizens wish to speak, either during the public forum or when the mayor requests public comment on an item, citizens attending via Zoom must raise their hands so that the meeting host can allow them to speak. Those who attend the in-person meeting will have the opportunity to speak at the podium.

In order for the commissioners to have an opportunity to review comments in advance of the meeting, please email your comments or questions by 5 p.m. the Sunday prior to the Monday meetings.
Study session
Commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session at 3 p.m. Monday. The topic of the study session is sidewalk construction and repair.
Regular meeting
Commissioners are scheduled to conduct a public hearing about the establishment of a Rural Housing Incentive District (RHID) in Salina. Following the hearing, they are scheduled to consider an ordinance that would establish a RHID in Salina. If that is approved, commissioners will consider approving a resolution waiving residential building fees associated with the South View Estates Rural Housing Incentive District.
Other items on the city commission agenda for Monday include the following.
●Hear the second reading of a proposed ordinance that would annex into the city a 34-acre tract of land on the east side of S. Ohio Street between E. Magnolia Road and E. Schilling Road.
●Hear the second reading of a proposed ordinance that would change the zoning district classification of three Central Mall outlets on the north side of Magnolia Road from PDD C-1 (restricted business) to PDD C-3 (shopping center district) to allow construction of a hotel on the property.
●Consider a resolution authorizing the city manager to permit Salina VFW Post 1432 Auxiliary volunteers to solicit within the city's rights-of-way.
●Consider authorizing city staff preparation of a special assessment engineering feasibility report for Phase II of Magnolia Hills Estates Addition No. 2.
