Arthur Jon “Art” Panzer, 77, passed away July 29, 2025 at his home in Ellsworth, KS. He was born January 2, 1948 in Ellsworth to Arthur Louis Panzer and Selma F. (Hildebrandt) Panzer. Art served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam and was a member of the Ellsworth VFW Post 6485. He worked as a wiring supervisor at Elkan and later as a cook supervisor at Ellsworth Correctional Facility before retiring. His hobbies included playing cards and gardening.
Art is survived by his sister Joyce Shields of Lindsborg, KS; niece Denise Peterson (Corey) of Lindsborg; nephews, Dennis A. Shields (Ghada) of McLean, VA and Daryl Shields (Marie) of Lindsborg; along with four great nieces, one great nephew, one great-great niece and one great-great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Selma.
Memorial service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2025 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with inurnment and military honors following at Ellsworth Cemetery.
