Robert L. McLeighton of Salina passed on March 1st, 2022, to be with the Lord.
He was born on March 27th, 1932, to Duncan and Iris McLeighton in Baxley, Georgia.
Robert graduated as valedictorian from Baxley High School, served four years during the Korean War in the USAF, and retired with a 34-year career at Deere & Company.
He met and married his wife Dorothy Groth in 1955.
Robert was an avid golf player and enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. With an infectious smile and sense of humor, Robert was a joy to know. Most of all, he loved his family and was a devoted and beloved father, husband, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy McLeighton of 61 years, two children Kim Cunningham (Skip) of Ely, Nevada; Kevin McLeighton (Shirley) of Salina, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tharen.
There will be a private graveside service.
