K-State women's soccer hosts Sooners in Cats for the Cure match

MANHATTAN -- K-State will play two of its next three games and three of its final five at the friendly confines of Buser Family Park, as the Wildcats host Oklahoma on Friday at 5 p.m.

• Friday’s game is Cats for the Cure, as the Wildcats will wear pink uniforms for cancer awareness.

• Friday night’s match will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, as Brian Smoller (play-by-play), Oscar Montenegro (analyst) and Kathrine Benhardt (sideline) will have the call. The match will also be available for free at kstatesports.com, as Mitch Fortner will call the action.

• Seating at Buser Family Park will be limited to 25 percent capacity and fans are asked to sit general admission-style and socially distanced from the other pods of fans.

• In accordance with City of Manhattan ordinance and Kansas State University policy, fans must wear face coverings over their mouths and noses in order to enter Buser Family Park and continue wearing them inside the stadium. Fans with a medical condition, mental health condition, deaf or hard of hearing or have a disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering will be required to wear a face shield as a reasonable modification. Children 5 and under are not required to wear a face covering. Fans should provide their own face coverings.

Punching In

• K-State’s 2020 roster features familiar faces on the field during the last four seasons.

• Among the top eight for matches played in program history, four are current Wildcats including Christina Baxter (58 matches; 4th), Maddie Souder (57 matches; 5th), Brookelynn Entz (54 matches; 6th) and Avery Green (52 matches; t7th).

• Since the 2017 season, at least one of the four players of Baxter, Souder, Entz and Green have been in the K-State starting lineup which equates to 58 consecutive matches. Entz has 49 career starts and ranks third in program history, while Souder has 48 career starts and ranks fourth. Green ranks seventh for career starts with 42 and leads the Wildcats with a current consecutive start streak of 25 straight matches.

Oklahoma Pipeline For the Cats

• K-State’s 2020 roster features six players from the state of Oklahoma: Kenzie Applegate (Coweta), Grace Brennan (Edmond), Jenna Brown (Claremore), Kyler Goins (Broken Arrow), Peyton Pearson (Tulsa) and Presli Pearson (Tulsa). The six players from Oklahoma are tied for the most players from a single state, joining the six Wildcats on the roster from Kansas.

• During its brief history, K-State’s roster has featured several players from Oklahoma including departed letter winners Laramie Hall (Oklahoma City) and Tatum Wagner (Tulsa).

• Hall is the K-State career leader for matches played and is third for career goals and total points. Wagner is fourth in career goals and career points.

Entz Adds to Career Totals

• Senior forward/midfielder Brookelynn Entz continues to build upon her impressive career resume at Kansas State.

• Entz, a 2019 All-Big 12 Second Team recipient, owns or is tied for a combined 17 career, single season or match records in program history.

• She added to her career ledger with two goals against Iowa State on October 11. Her four points against the Cyclones marked the most points scored by a K-State player in a Big 12 match.

• For the season, Entz recorded three goals and four assists to book 10 points on the year. Her 10 points are the second most for a season in her career. She is the only player in program history with two or more seasons with 10 or more points.

• She ranked fourth in the Big 12 and 35th in the nation for shots per game at 3.94. 

• In her career, Entz owns the school record for career goals (11), career assists (7). She owns the school record for career points with 29. She is the third player in program history to score at least one goal in all four seasons of her K-State career. With one goal, she will become the first player in program history to score at least two or more goals in four consecutive seasons.
