November 4, 1940 ~ February 15, 2021 (age 80)

Anita Jean (Shelby) Young, 80, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 in Salina to be with her Lord and Savior.

Anita worked as a nursing aide for many years at Kenwood View and Windsor Estates and also at Grandma Max’s. She enjoyed watching old western shows on TV, eating out at IHOP and going to church to give hugs and smiles to everyone.

Not having any children of her own, she devoted herself to the children in the Children’s Ministry at Grace Baptist, teaching them to love the Lord with all of their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bessie Shelby and brothers, Bill Griffith, Fred Shelby and Lee Griffith.

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Robert J. Young, of Salina; sisters Charlotte Leighton of Salina and Betty Hartzell of San Antonio, TX; brother James Shelby of Salina and several nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at Grace Baptist with Pastor Matt Parnell officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
