A local lawncare and landscaping business is out more than $5,000 after tools were stolen from three of their pickups earlier this week.

Sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, someone entered three pickups at Fox Lawn and Landscaping, 1001 Franklin Street and stole hand tools and power tools, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. A tool box was pried open, causing $140 worth of damage. Total loss was more than $5,000, he said.

Some of the items were inside the pickups and others were in the beds of the pickups, Forrester said.

Police are in the process of reviewing surveillance video.
