TOPEKA – Kansas Wesleyan women's indoor track had a strong showing at the Washburn Open on Friday and Saturday.
The Coyotes competed in a field filled with athletes from NCAA Division II and elite junior college programs, along with strong NAIA competition as well.
KWU's Distance Medley Relay team of Regan Rhodes (SR/Mullinville, Kan.), Grace Pearson (FR/Cypress, Texas), Charlee Lind (FR/Wamego, Kan.) and Alayna Behrman (SO/Craig, Colo.) was 13th with a time of 14:06.29.
The 4x400m relay team of Grayce Tankersley (FR/Hillsboro, Kan.), Tamayia Washington (SO/Manhattan, Kan.), Grace Pearson and Bailey Mann (SO/Ferris, Texas) placed 15th with a time of 4:21.93.
Nicole Holaday (SR/Gove, Kan.) led the KWU finishers in the shot put with a mark of 11.95m for 16th place. Elizabeth Stout (FR/Holden, Mo.) was 18th with a mark of 11.80m, and Jaci Carter (FR/Beloit, Kan.) was 35th with a mark of 10.36m.
Nicole Holaday placed 17th in the weight throw with a mark of 14.45m.
Josie Koppes (SO/Manhattan, Kan.) placed 23rd in the 3000m with a time of 11:08.08.
Grayce Tankersley placed 28th in the long jump with a mark of 4.48m.
Madisyn Ehrlich (FR/Salina, Kan.) was 29th in the mile with a time of 5:31.51, Daniella Gaona (JR/Clifton, Texas) was 45th with a time of 5:44.67, and Joni Schroeder (FR/Salina, Kan.) was 50th with a time of 5:48.25.
Madisyn Ehrlich placed 44th in the 800m with a time of 2:31.01.
Bailey Mann placed 55th in the 400m with a time of 66.94 seconds.
Up next for the Coyotes is the KCAC Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Heskett Center at Wichita State University.
