
James D. “Jim” Murk, age 68, of Aurora, KS, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at his home in Aurora, KS surrounded by his family. He was born on June 21, 1956, in Westmoreland, KS to Donald & Dixie (Chayer) Murk.
He graduated from Glasco High School in 1974.
He married Patricia (Pat) LeDuc on August 22, 1975 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas.
Jim operated Murk Automotive from 1982 to 1996 and then worked at Cloud Ceramics until 2011. After, he held various service manager positions until he retired due to health in 2019.
He was a founding member of the Heartland Auto Club and has been actively involved since its inception. He served on the Cloud County Historical Society Board and the Aurora City Council. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Murk, Aurora, KS; daughter, Nichole Wynn (Tor), Wichita, KS; son, Eric Murk (Janie), Junction City, KS; brother, Ron Murk (Val), Delphos, KS; sister, Janice Wheeler, Salina, KS; grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Claire Pendleton & step-grandchildren, Torie, Charlie and Nick Wynn.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Donald & Ramona Murk; his mother and step-father, Dixie & James Hladky; brothers, Roger Murk & Daniel Hladky.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Sunday, June 8, 2025. A rosary will be held at 6 pm with family greeting friends following the rosary all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, KS with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS.
