Doug Rempp to be sworn in as new Salina Commissioner during Jan. 12 commission meeting

EDITOR'S NOTE: Doug Rempp will be sworn in-person on January 12, as he stays Arizona during the winter season. He plans on making a commitment to the 1st meeting of every month during the winter. Starting March 2026, Rempp will consistently be at the commission meetings.

About the meeting

The Salina City Commission will hold its regular meeting on Monday January 12, 2026. The meeting will begin at 4:00 pm inside Room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street.

Consent agenda

1. Consider approval of the minutes of the December 22, 2025 regular meeting.

2. Consider Resolution No. 26-8326 to declare John Parker Jr. Park as a qualified municipal facility under the City of Salina Municipal Facility Naming Guidelines.

Organizational Meeting (City Clerk Presiding)

1. City Clerk administers Oath of Office to the new City Commissioners.

2. New Commissioners seated, meeting called to order and roll call taken.

3. Consider nominations for Mayor and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.

4. Consider nominations for Acting Mayor and Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.

5. City Clerk turns the gavel and meeting over to the newly appointed Mayor.

6. Mayor presents Plaques of Appreciation to Bill Longbine and Greg Lenkiewicz for their terms as Commissioner and Mayor, respectively.

7. Hear comments from the new Mayor.
