José G. Esparza-Bañuelos, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 16, 2025. He was born March 20, 1957, in Abrego, Zacatecas Mexico to Manuel Esparza and Alicia Banuelos.
He married the love of his life Alfonsina Panuco, Feb 19, 1977. José worked most of his life doing commercial construction. Jose was a devoted husband and father. He loved to spend time with all his family; He loved to dance. He was a very happy man, always had a good sense of humor. His favorite quote “ Sabes Cuando” , and he will be remembered by so many close family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Esparza and Alicia Banuelos; his brother, Heriberto Esparza, and his sisters Silvia Esparza de Torres and Lupe Esparza.
He is survived by his Wife, Alfonsina Panuco de Esparza; 5 children, Alma Esparza (Tony), José Esparza (Ibeth), Manuel Esparza (Melissa), Bernardo Esparza (Yaneth), Araceli Esparza; 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, 11 brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will start at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N 9th St, Salina, KS. With a rosary following at 7 p.m.
The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N 9th St, Salina, KS, with burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 3350 E. Crawford St., Salina, KS.
Lunch will follow the service at Sacred Heart Cathedral in the Parish Hall.
