The Salvation Army of Salina marked a new chapter after celebrating it's newly renovated Corps and Community Center.
On Thursday afternoon, the charitable organization hosted a ribbon-cutting event for its renovated Corps and Community Center.
The celebration marked the completion of a significant renovation project and the beginning of a renewed chapter of service for the organization.
A crowd of community members, local leaders, ministry partners, supporters, and friends of The Salvation Army attended the ceremony and toured the renovated facility.

Major Patricia Salas said the building is dedicated to the mission God has given them.
"This is just the beginning," said Maj. Salas.
Captain Luke Hursh reinforced the dedication of the building to Jesus Christ and the mission.
"The building is not the mission, but is a tool for the mission," he said. "This building is for His (God) people, His community and His mission."

The organization will use the building to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, discipleship, service work, church fellowship, children's ministry, education, recreation, music, outreach, nutrition ministries and where the community can encounter the love and hope of Christ.
The renovation process started in January 2026. Maj. Salas brought up the June storms that occurred during the process, and concerns arose about the structure itself. She said that instead of despairing, they stayed in prayer and thanked all who contributed to the construction of the renovation.
"We are so grateful to everyone who contributed and for their patience," she said.
Captain Luke Hursh said there are small tasks that need to be fulfilled before the renovation is fully complete.
An expected completion date is expected for the end of September to early October 2026.
