Jack R. Wilson, “Jackie”

Jack R. Wilson, “Jackie”, age 91, passed away Wednesday August 14, 2024 in rural Jewell, KS. He was born to Jack and Hazel Wilson on August 7, 1933.

Growing up on the farm, Jack developed a love and respect for the land, farm animals, and hard-working farm life, including farming his land, harvesting various crops, baling, custom harvesting, caring for various farm animals, including cattle, in which he was caring for up to his passing,

Within his younger years, he also worked in Kansas City, and also served as the Jewell County Deputy Sherriff. Jack was married to Fawna Arasmith and to this union were blessed with three children; Greg, Bruce, and Ferris. They eventually divorced. Later he married Joann Vanleewan, and to this union were blessed with three children; Melinda, Mark, and Monte.

With the children growing up, grandchildren were entering the family including Megan Cheek (Jeff), Jewell, KS, Bobby Stickler, San Diego, CA, Debbie Bogerty, Virginia, Jerod McMillan (Samantha), Jewell, KS, Lee McMillian (Ingrid), Beloit, KS, Ashley Gerlach (Matt), Clearwater, KS, Kelsie Matta (Adrian) Wichita, KS, Haley Patty (Jason), Benton, KS, Cooper Wilson (Jessica), Lawrence, KS, Dalton Wilson (Kenzie), Manhattan, KS, Josie Krier (Ashton), Beloit, KS, Wade Wilson, Jewell, KS, Lane, Wilson, Jewell, KS, Ashton Cates (Ryan), Jewell, KS, Ali Ernst (Brett), Jewell, KS.

The family was then blessed with loving great grandchildren.

In addition to the above, Jack is also survived by daughters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Jack will always be remembered by his good humor, and friendly joking, and bringing a smile to many faces.

Visitation will be Thursday August 22, 2024 from 2pm–7pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm-7pm at Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, KS.

Funeral Services will be Friday August 23, 2024 at 10:30am at the Jewell Community Center with Kerma Crouse officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Jewell Community Center or Wallace Cemetery.

The Casket will remain closed.
