Police are looking for a man believed to have tried to break into two north Salina businesses early this morning.
An officer on patrol at approximately 1:10 a.m. Wednesday heard an audible alarm coming from C&C Auto Sales, 732 N. Broadway Boulevard.
When he pulled in, he saw a man running north away from the business, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The officer attempted to chase the man, but lost sight of him and returned to the business. There, he found a broken wooden door to the business. Damage was estimated at $300.
While checking C&C Auto and looking in the area for the suspect, police also discovered a shattered glass door at Hometown Outdoor Power, 821 N. Broadway Boulevard, Forrester said.
The suspect is described as being White or Hispanic and wearing a dark green jacket and dark pants or shorts. Police are checking surveillance from both locations for additional information, Forrester said.
