
Derrick James Blochlinger passed away in Salina, Kansas on January 21, 2026, he was 47.
He was born January 9, 1979, in Concordia, Kansas.
He will be missed by all the family and friends he leaves behind including his children, Scott Blochlinger, Green KS, Luke and Jaedyn Blochlinger, Concordia, KS, Maddie and Carson McMillan, Green, KS and Sarah and Tyson Tipsword. Clay Center, KS. His grandchildren Wilden Thornbrugh, Navy McMillan, and Samuel Blochlinger.
He also leaves behind his father David Blochlinger, Concordia, KS. His siblings, Crystal and David Chavarria, Delphos, KS, and David and Kala Blochlinger, Goodland, KS. As well as several nieces, and nephews: Valkyrie Schmidt with Emelyse, Colorado Springs, CO, Gabby and Kevin Vega, with Maddox and Cairo, Minneapolis, KS, Nathaniel Belt, Salina, KS, Violet Belt, Syracuse, NY, Haley Blochlinger, Hays, KS, and Hadyn Blochlinger, Topeka, KS.He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Blochlinger, and sister Colleen Belt.
Derrick graduated from Concordia High School, and NCK Technical School with a degree in Automotive Technology. He also worked many years as an Industrial Electrician. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He was always gaming to go on an adventure, and his favorite activity was razzing everyone he loved good-naturedly. Those who loved Derrick will remember him for his kindness, his hilarious sense of humor, his generosity of spirit, and deep love of the outdoors. We will all miss his big smile and corny dad jokes.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, February 6, 2026, at Scout Hall in Markley Grove Park, Minneapolis, KS at 2:00 p.m.
