Dancing Salina man arrested on requested drug charges

A Salina man was arrested on requested drug charges after he was found dancing along a sidewalk Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were sent to the 100 block of N. College Avenue for the report of a man dancing on the sidewalk in the area for approximately 45 minutes.

When they arrived, they found Anthony Bowman-Brooks, Jr., 32, of Salina near the intersection of N. College Avenue and State Street, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. While talking with Bowman-Brooks, officers allegedly noticed a syringe in his back pocket.

Officers tried to detain Bowman-Brooks, but he allegedly began to resist and fight, Forrester said. When he was finally taken into custody, he was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Forrester said Bowman-Brooks was arrested on the following requested charges.

●Possession of methamphetamine

●Possession of drug paraphernalia

●Interference with law enforcement officers
