Norene Klos Obituary 2022 - Yazel - Megli Funeral Homes (yazelmeglifh.com)

November 22, 1948 - March 22, 2022

Norene Joy Klos was born on November 22, 1948, in Herington to Harry Adam and Cora Ashwell. Norene passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on March 22, 2022, at Hilltop Lodge Health and Rehab in Beloit, KS.

Besides the last 12 years, Norene was a lifelong resident of Herington, graduating with the class of 1966. Norene spent many years working as a medical clerk on Ft. Riley at Irwin Army Hospital.  

She also loved to color, making afghans, doing latch hook, and participating in the activities at the Hilltop, especially the “Geriatric Olympics.” But Norene’s favorite thing to do was watch Elvis movies and listen to Elvis on the radio. 

Her biggest blessings in life were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with.

Norene is survived by her daughters Annette Rhymer and husband Jason Heldstab of Council Grove, and Angela Loree of Herington; sister Betty Kearns of Coffeyville, brother Mark Adam and wife Janet of Herington; grandchildren Kelsey and Ashton Turner, Skyelar Loree, James, Jordan, Megan, and Samantha Heldstab; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Adam, brother Gerald Adam and son Rick Klos.

Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Herington Chapel is serving the family.

The family will receive guests on April 1st, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, 404 S. Broadway St. in Herington. Funeral services will start at 2 p.m., with Pastor Raymer officiating.
