The Southeast of Saline baseball team decimated Republic County on Tuesday, combining to outscore the Buffaloes 40-2 in a clean doubleheader sweep.

Game 1: SE of Saline 17, Republic County 0
The opener of this two-game set took just five innings to complete, as dominant pitching and a never-ending hit parade delivered the Trojans a victory.
Noah Rupert was dominant on the bump, tossing four innings of one-hit, shutout ball, allowing just the one baserunner while striking out five.
At the dish, the Trojans struck for 17 runs on 14 hits, with Rupert and Tiernan Ptacek combining for 7 of the Southeast’s 14 RBI.
Everyone got in on the fun, with eight of the nine spots in the lineup recording at least one hit, and Ptacek, Rupert, and Grady Gebhardt each enjoying a multi-hit game.
Game 2: SE of Saline 23, Republic County 2
The second game ensured an early evening to all in attendance, as once again the Trojans had things wrapped up before the end of the fifth inning.
Southeast amassed 23 runs on 12 hits, capitalizing on 14 walks and five errors gifted by Republic County.
Nine different players notched a hit, with eight more recording at least one RBI.
While SES shared the wealth, Kayson Bertrand led the charge, driving in five runs on three hits in a 3-4 day at the plate.
On the hill, Zakary Heller picked up where Noah Rupert left off, fanning ten and conceding just two runs, both unearned, on three hits without allowing a walk.
With this sweep, Southeast improves to 6-2 while Republic County falls to 1-7.
The Trojans are back in action on Friday as they travel to Abilene for a showdown with the Cowboys.
