Saline County Commission accepts grant for the improvements of the Senior Services building

Saline County Commissioners accepted a grant by the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) on top of other funds, to fulfill improvements to the Senior Service building in Salina.

On Tuesday, the Saline County Commission approved by signature a $712,460 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) provided by the KDOC to assist funds towards the improvements of the Senior Services building. This amount will be added along with donations ($10,000), Earl Bane Foundation ($15,000) and Capital Improvement Program funds ($200,000), making a total of $937,460 for the project cost.

The project includes replacing parking lot, replace uneven sidewalks, install lighting around the building and replacement of the roof.
