Bids for bonds on various projects within Salina have been approved.
On Monday's city commission meeting, commissioners approved a total of $12,660,000 for funding public infrastructures.
Each project on the bids would be repaid over a 20-year period.
The bids for such projects included:
- Fire Station No. 4: $4,865,000 (Property Tax)
- Airport Industrial Center No. 3 Ph 1: $3,195,000 (Special Assessment)
- Cedar Point: $855,000 (Special Assessment)
- Lakeview Estates No. 2 Ph 2: $560,000 (Special Assessment)
- Liberty Addition No. 3: $510,000 (Special Assessment)
- Stone Lake Ph 3b: $1,165,000 (Special Assessment)
- Overlook Estates: $1,510,000 (Special Assessment)
According to the city, these bids noted that the municipality's strengths included its status as the regional economic hub of north central Kansas, conservative budgeting, and strong tax revenue contributing to a positive financial performance.
According to the city, the analysis noted that significant improvement in resident income and full value per capita, positive economic growth ratio, and trend of long-term liabilities ratio remaining below 200% could lead to an upgrade.
