Saline County law enforcement are investigating a burglary that resulted in over $50,000 worth of items stolen and damaged.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office on April 19 at around 12:41 pm, deputies were sent to a northwest Saline County address.
Reportedly, Palmer Towing in Salina has a storage lot located in the area and the owner arrived to do a check-up. Reportedly, the owner found four vehicles missing Catalytic Converters.
Additionally, the owner found $1,250 worth of battery cables stolen from semi-tractors parked in the area.
Total loss and value was $2,850.
Furthermore, Lynn Sickler (78) of Bennington had items stored in the owner's lot.
Reportedly, Sickler had a storage container that was burglarized. Inside, Sickler had a plethora of items stolen and damaged.
According to the Sheriff's Office, destroyed and stolen included:
- Welding tools ($3,000)
- Tool workshop *damaged* ($10,000)
- Electric tools ($20,000)
- Precision tools ($20,000)
- Line wrenches ($1,200)
- Angle wrench ($400)
- Torque wrench ($400)
- Paint guns ($1,000)
- Screwdrivers ($1,000)
- Brinks lock *damaged* ($100)
- Storage container arm *damaged* ($50)
$57,150 was listed as the total loss and damage.
After this discovery, the owner found a Brown SUV with Nebraska plates (County designation #22) leave the area towards Salina. Inside the vehicle was a white male with a beard and white female with glasses.
